I am so excited to bring you this weeks giveaway.
Giveaway open until Monday night 3/28/11

I have found that my children learn so quickly by song and they are learning so many Memory Verses by song.

I have three older children and just one younger (age 4) so the best way for me is to put it on the fridge with a colorful picture. Then we can review it together when we see it.

Singing verses has been the only real effective way for me to memorize--sometimes I put them to simple recognizable children's tunes.

Thanks for the opportunity!

I actually sing the verses to my son, too! It helps him memorize, and this would be a great way to help him. I also keep the verse on our door out to the garage as a reminder for myself every time we leave to say the verse and practice with him.

Music is always a great way to learn verses with almost no effort. I also use verses during to the to praise or guide my children in their behavior.

I like "knock, and shall be given" best on the list of demo songs.

For me, I write verses on an index card Rolodex, and go over them often. For Clayton, I just use rote memory, but use drama in my voice and hand motions when I can.

Singing verses is a definite help. I also like to leave scripture posted around the house in various places. Also, talking about scripture all the time helps!

The easiest way for me to memorize Scripture is through music.

I also think it is easiest through song and repeating it over & over everyday, especially with young children. I'm hoping to be the lucky winner!

I forgot to put what I do to hide Scripture in my children's hearts. I am sorry. I figured I would go ahead and leave the idea even if I am exempt from the contest. I am a strong believer in memorizing God's Word so that you have a Scripture bank to pull from when you need it (and I need them daily, hourly). I have always tried my best to tell my children a Scripture when the situation warrants it. If they are afraid, I will quote one of the many fear Scriptures from the Bible (2 Timothy 1:7). If they are not obeying, I quote Ephesians 6:1. I also like to pray with them and use Scriptures in our prayers. We also read a great ABC Scripture book each week as we homeschool and do a letter of the week. We also have a Bible verse each week through Sonlight and church so I try hard to help them learn those as well. It's my main goal that my children know Jesus, not just the Bible Jesus, but know Him intimately and know He is there in every situation and circumstance and having Scripture memorized helps because we see that He knows our lives so well that He put encouragement in the Word for us to draw from.
