Garlic Salve

Garlic Salve

Garlic has so many healing qualities to it.  It is called a "Natural Antibiotic."

Here are just a few things garlic can help earaches, sore throat, infections, coughs and colds, bacteria infections, immune system, and many more.

This salve is great for both children and adults, it is easy to apply and can help greatly.

I decided to use this today because I have a really sick little boy who has really bad earache as well as fever etc  He was really quite healthy this whole winter past but now he is not feeling well at all.  It really makes me sad when my little ones get sick.

In a blender put:
1/3 cup of Coconut oil
2 Tablespoons of olive oil
8 cloves of pealed garlic (I crushed mine as well)
5 or so drops of lavender oil
an also add other essential oils of choice
However, if adding more essential oils you may want more  garlic and or coconut oil to mild it out.
Recipe adapted from Be your own Doctor

Blend on high speed until liquefied.  Strain through a fine sieve to catch any pieces.
Pour into a small glass jar (a baby food jar works great).
Refrigerate

This works great to apply EXTERNALLY to ears, neck, throat, chest, back (lung area), and the bottoms of feet.

Be careful when using on children if it causes a rash dilute with more coconut and or olive oil.
Some people have a sensitivity to garlic and are not able to use.

If you try this come back and let me know what you thought.
Not meant to diagnose or cure.

I joyfully Recomend

You will be amazed by the way you can help your self plus all the persnal stories in this book.

Thanks for sharing this, Angie!

I love garlic, and we eat it plain when we feel we might be getting sick. I'll usually eat up to three cloves per meal, if I'm really hoping to stay well. It does make me smell seriously of garlic, though! :)

This salve looks helpful...I might have to try making. :)

Looks interesting. I might have to give it a try. Do you have to use lavender oil? I don't know if I can get that down here. How long does it keep? Thanks, I love reading your posts. ~Kezia

Joy,
You are brave I have not taken the leap to eat garlic raw yet. I do take garlic gel caps daily and it has really brouht my bp down to normal. My bp was elivated not to dangerous but I did not want to go on meds.

I tought this salve worked great for my little one because it was a lot less trouble putting it on him then making him take something.

Thans for following me as well.

Kezia this is the first time I have made it so I don't know how long it would keep in the refrige. I would think several weeks though. As long as it don't grow mold I would think it would be ok. The garlic might lose it strength though after some time.
I added the Lavendar oil because it has a lot of healing qualities as well. Does it cost a lot to send things to you? Maybe I could do that for you.

This looks interesting! I'll bet that minus the garlic, this would make a divine moisturizer as well.....

Following you via the Barn Hop! I love garlic for the nasty cold season and infuse it into honey along with apple cider vinegar and onions... I am the only one in the house brave enough to drink this awesome medicine. Your garlic salve will work great for the littles. What about a bit of Eucalyptus oil? Mine love a bit of that and Mint EO in oil rubbed on the chest when they can't breath. come on over to my blog and follow along if you like!

I love this book! I just got it last week from a recommendation from a friend. I have "garlic salve" on my to-do for next week. Everytime I turn around my 13 year old daughter is reading it. She declared yesturday that she was going to spend some of her birthday money to get a copy of it for her hope chest. :-)

Thanks so much for sharing, I'll have to try it. I love to learn about using natural things to help our bodies. My children and I love garlic in any form, and we do eat it raw sometimes, we just like the taste. Have you ever tried garlic oil, I've heard that it is good to put inside the ear. I've never tried it yet, would like to hear from someone who has tried it personally first. God Bless

I have used garlic as an antibiotic before with my animals (and me). It really is an amazing herb.

This is fabulous! Thanks for sharing. I already use garlic for so many things, but it's a lot of trial and error to get something that I feel confidant in topically. I love having a recipe!

I don't have any lavender essential oil - do I have to have it to make this? I have Tea Tree essential oil, would that work? This looks really great and I'd love to make it. This season has been filled with a bit more sickness for ourselves I'd say. Thank you so much for sharing!
