A Year with God - Book Review

My first book review for Book Sneeze.

A Year with God by R. P. Nettelhorst

This book is set up as a Daily Devotional there are 365 daily readings. Each day is numbered but not dated so you can do this in the order you would like. Book contains “Daily Readings and Reflections on God's own Word.” What better words are there but God's own words.
The first part of each daily reading has the printed scripture reading for each day. So the scripture can be read right in the same book as the devotional is read. Several different Bible translations are used such as MSG, NRSV, NASB, NKJV, NIV, CEV, NLT, and HCSB to name most of them. The devotionals are set up under different categories:

Hope and Fear
Love and Hate
Perseverance and Quitting
Faith and Doubt
Loyalty and Betrayal
Companionship and Isolation
Mercy and Judgment
Forgiveness and Anger
Joy and Sadness
Peace and Conflict

This looks like a really great book to get you into the Word of God. Through this book you could get to know God better and become closer to Him as you “Make His thoughts your thoughts.” I look forward to spending more time digging into this book. I would recommend this book as an adults or youth devotional I think it would be too advanced for children. I read some to my children and they seemed a little lost.

DISCLOSURE OF MATERIAL CONNECTION: I received this book free from Thomas Nelson Publishing. I was not required to write a positive review. The opinions I have expressed are my own. I am disclosing this in accordance with the Federal Trade Commission's 16 CFR, Part 255
