Handmade CD sleeves + Tutorial

If your house is anything like ours you have cd's without cases.
Sometimes we also have cases without cd's

Anyways I thought it would be nice to have some cute looking cd sleeves

I took a plain old white sleeve apart and made a pattern from it.
I traced it with a pencil on the back side of some wall paper.

Wall paper makes for great projects.
You could also use pattern paper for scrapbooking or just about any paper.

Fold on fold lines.

Glue along side flaps and then fold them over.

I punch a nice tag for the front.

I stamped a light design for the background on my tag.

Put CD inside.

All done

Several other ones  made at the same time.

These would be great if you give a cd gift with pictures etc.

This is a fun project to do with children.
If you want my patterns leave a comment with your email address asking me to mail it to you.

I love to read your comments.

Check out these places I party.

What a great idea! I would love to do this to all my cds that have our family photos on them. We have lots of them. :) Thanks so much for joining in on Terrific Under Ten Today!

Oh my goodness! This is such a great idea! Thanks for the inspiration. :) Although I'm not a super crafty kind of gal, I'd love to receive a copy of your CD sleeve pattern; it would make a great rainy day/waiting for spring type of project. :)

Blessings, ~Lisa

PS: I found your link on Raising Homemakers.

what a great idea! Where do you get the wall paper? (I'm hoping it's not some place obvious like Home Depot! - it could be a dumb question!)

You are close but I have never gotten any fom Home Depto they don't give them out.
I get them from Serman Williams constently. Just go in and ask them if they have any outdated wall paper books. One time I went in and asked and they gave me 16. They work for all kinds of projects. I like to make envelopes out of them.

Thanks for the tutorial! I take quite a few photos of family events and also for church, so I often need to share CD's and this would be a great way to package gift ones, so I'm bookmarking it.
