Chicken and Waffles

You can't get a much better Pennsylvania Dutch meal then good old Chicken and Waffles with all the extras. E had been asking me to make this for him he just loves the waffles. We had company over the other night ad so I finally made this. Oh it was SO SO yummy. This waffle recipe has been in my family for many generations.

Che chicken cooking in the crockpot

Dinner is ready: Chicken, Waffles, gravy, green beans (home canned), and Mashed Potatoes

Tip from my brother Tim: When your mashing your potatoes put a little our cream in them it makes more creamy, more fluffy mashed potatoes.

Waffles: Recipe came to me from the late Edith Hummel whom I still miss so very much, she was like a mother to me.

1 stick butter (melted)

4 eggs

1 can evaporated plus a little water to rinse out the can

1 tsp of baking powder

flour (enough to make it like pancake batter consistency)

Preheat waffle iron. In order listed wish ingredients together. Bake waffles in a waffle iron until desired consistency.

Enjoy

With leftover waffles make a waffle Sunday:
With warm waffles put ice cream between. Jeff thought it had to have caramel on top as well.

Please leave a comment if you try these.
