Easter Basket Cupcakes

My children and I made these Easter Basket Cupcakes to share with some other children.

Make some cupcakes any kind will do.

Put icing (any kind or even just cool whip) on the cupcakes and then sprinkle with green colored sugar.

I used twizzlers string licorice I cut it in half and then pulled the strings apart by 3.
Leaving 3 together helped it stand up a little better.
It also worked better twist the licorice before putting it on.

I think they turned out really cute.
They are a little tricky to get them right but a fun project to do together.

My little one loves to cook as well.  Last evening when I opened the microwave this is what I found.
Oh the Joy's of Josiah.
Hot Dogs anyone?

Check out these great parties this project may be linked with.

Decorated Easter Basket + Coloring Easter Eggs

I decorated this cute little basket with a pink Lace Rose I made.
We filled the basket with some pink and green dyed eggs.
Egg Dying Tutorial:
Supplies:
Hard boiled Eggs (Cooled)
1 Coffee Mug for each color you want to do
1/2 cup of water in each mug
Food coloring 10 to 20 drops of each color
1 Tbsp of Vinegar
Put Food Coloring and vinegar into water
Newspaper (on table in case of spills)
(I am so glad I put this down first or my table would probably be green)
Spoons
Paper Towels (For laying eggs on to dry)

Put your egg in a pan covered with water.
I use lukewarm tap water.
You don't want hot water it may crack your eggs.

 When your water starts to
boil cook eggs for 10 min.
Cool eggs.

Carefully put the eggs in the dye with a tablespoon.

Every once in a while check the eggs by seeing how dark they are.
While we were doing this together we had a little talk time how the egg represents life and that through Jesus we can have new life.
The Bible tells us to train our children while they are young.

The longer you leave the egg in the dye the darker it will get.

After you remove the egg from the dye, dry it off with a paper towel and then lay it on a paper towel to dry.

After eggs are completely dry place them in a cute decorated basket.
This makes a festive centerpiece for your table.

He Died for ME

Sometimes it concerns me that people think that God is just about love.
Don't get me wrong here. God does love us all very much.
However God also does have a wrath side.
God hates sin!!!
The Penalty for our sins is separation from God.
Jesus took the penalty for our sin upon Himself when he died on the cross.
WOW that is such an amazing reality that He would die for me.
Me the one who deserves death, condemnation, the wrath of God.
Jesus took the Wrath of God in my place, He suffered and died on the cross in my place.
For our sake he made him to be sin who knew no sin, so that in him we might become the righteousness of God.
2 Corinthians 5:21
We can not get to Heaven by the things we do, on our own we will never be good enough for God.
We can ONLY get to Heaven through the forgiveness of our Sins. Forgiveness can only come through the
death and Resurrection of Jesus Christ.
"For God so loved the world, that he gave his only Son, that whoever believes in him should not perish but have eternal life. For God did not send his Son into the world to condemn the world, but in order that the world might be saved through him
John 3: 16&17
It is not just a little prayer that we pray one time and we are assured a place in Heaven it is a life transformation. Believing that Jesus is Christ and Lord Being Born again through the Blood of Christ.
We are made new in Him.
Perfectly No but Increasingly Yes.

Easter Celebrations

A little less than 2 weeks and it will be Easter a time when we celebrate the Resurrection of our Savior.

I have been trying to prepare my heart for this special time.

We will be
Celebrating Maunday Thursday
with a Last Supper type meal and foot washing.
Good Friday
A service of Morning
Then Celebration Sunday

This is something we are doing different this year getting into the WHOLE thing.
Sometimes I think we take the Death and Resurrection of our Savior as something that just happened a long time ago.  I think we need to make this a lot more serious time.

Easter is not about the Easter bunny it is about Christ Jesus.

How are you planning on celebrating this Easter Season?
